How to apply – International students

Applying to study at Notre Dame is made up of four easy steps:

  1. Apply direct or via an education agent.
  2. Receive an offer via email, if you have been successful.
  3. Accept your offer and make fee payment.
  4. Enrol at Notre Dame after you receive your eCoE and apply for your student visa (if applicable).

You can apply directly to Notre Dame with no application fee. To apply, please complete the online application form and ensure you include all supporting documents.

Some international students will need to apply through one of our official agents. You can contact them directly and the education agent will be able to discuss your study and/or visa options with you and submit an application to Notre Dame.

  • What you'll need to apply

    To apply to study at Notre Dame as an international student, you’ll need:

    • Certified copies of your academic basis for entry
    • Certified copies of proof of English language proficiency
    • Certified copy of your proof of citizenship/residency
    • Certified copies of existing Australian visa and/or OSHC(if applicable)
    • Evidence of your ability to pay tuition fees and living expenses while in Australia.

  • English language proficiency requirements

    Notre Dame requires applicants to achieve minimum academic and English language proficiency standards/requirements. This ensures that you are competent in the English language, allowing you to participate effectively in your chosen program and achieve the expected program outcomes.

    You can demonstrate your English language proficiency by completing an English language test or through previous secondary or tertiary study as outlined on our English language proficiency requirements page.

Pathways to study at Notre Dame

Some students applying to study at Notre Dame may need to first study with one of our academic or English language pathway providers.

We have a list of pathway providers below that are recommended by us because of their commitment to a quality student experience. They have agreements with Notre Dame, which means that we will be able to provide you with packaged offers for the purpose of your application for your student visa.

  • Academic pathway providers

    Canning College

    • WA Universities’ Foundation Year (WAUFP). Successful completion* of this program meets the minimum academic entry requirements for Notre Dame.
    • Diploma of Commerce. This program is recognised by Notre Dame and allows students to articulate into the second year of Notre Dame’s Bachelor of Commerce and obtain advanced standing towards specified units within approved programs.
    • Canning College International Pathways to Notre Dame.

    Note: some disciplines require recognised English tests, such as Nursing, which requires IELTS Academic 7.0 overall, with no individual band score lower than 7.0 (or equivalent OET, PTE Academic or TOFEL (iBT)).

    Academic minimum entry requirements for undergraduate programs are as follows. For postgraduate programs, please see our requirements for postgraduate applicants. In addition to the academic minimum entry requirements, applicants must also meet our English language proficiency entry requirements. For undergraduate applicants, high school qualifications must be completed within the last five years.
