In Altum
/In Altūm/ comes from the Latin ‘duc in altum’ that Jesus says to St Peter in Luke 5:4. Sometimes translated in English as "put out into the deep," it can also be translated as "into higher things."
In Altum is a semester-long volunteer, leadership development, and faith formation program for students at UNDA, designed to help them to develop spiritually, to identify their own passions and gifts, and to serve the Church in a meaningful way. Under the guidance and direction of Chaplaincy staff, In Altum volunteers will be formed into dynamic, faith-filled teams that engage directly with a broad range of other students and play a role in furthering the evangelising mission on campus throughout the year.
Through regular one-on-one catch ups with Chaplaincy team members, as well as scheduled whole team interactions, they will gain valuable insights and practical skills that will propel both your faith and career, and this will have a powerful ripple effect on the broader community and on the life of the local Church.
