  • Program summary

As an educator, leader, or someone who is acting as both, you probably recognise that although health professionals have extensive knowledge and skills in their professional discipline, the art and science of leading and passing knowledge from one generation to the next are often overlooked in the context of demanding clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities.

Education has always been at the core of what it means to practise in the health sciences. Health professionals accept that, as part of their role, they will be involved in educating new generations of health professionals. We also know that often in health, some of the most influential leaders are also highly effective educators.

The Graduate Diploma of Health Leadership and Education provides a pathway for health professionals interested in developing their knowledge and skills in leadership and education, aiming to become exemplary leaders and educators in health – across executive, clinical, and/or academic settings. Over the course of your studies, you will gain a sound understanding of contemporary leadership and learning theories and a vast repertoire of applicable skills aimed explicitly at best practice in modern healthcare and academic contexts.
