Celebrating Notre Dame students and alumni competing at the Paris 2024 Olympics Games

31 July 2024

The University of Notre Dame Australia is excited to announce that several of our current students and recent alumni are chasing their Olympic dreams at the Paris 2024 Games. We are proud to support and follow their journeys from back home as they take on this extraordinary challenge.

Current student Jocelyn Bartram, who recently started her Medicine studies at Notre Dame, will be the starting goalkeeper for the Australian Women’s Hockey team, the Hockeyroos. Another current student, Jackson Hamilton, part of our Fremantle Elite Athlete Program, will compete in Javelin at the Paralympics.

Additionally, we are thrilled to highlight that alumna Nina Kennedy, a recent graduate in Behavioural Science, will be competing in the Pole Vault. As the current world champion, Nina is a strong medal contender.

Toby Edwards, who graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science (Honours) in 2015 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 2021, has helped prepare Australian track sprint and BMX race athletes for the Olympics through his role as a strength and power scientist.

Notre Dame extends its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Jocelyn, Jackson, Nina and Toby. We are immensely proud of their achievements in both their academic and athletic pursuits and will be cheering them on from afar as they represent our University and Australia on the global stage.
