Act, statutes and regulations
Our governance arrangements are specified within establishment legislation, the University of Notre Dame Australia Act 1989 as well as the University Statutes. These, together with the Canonical Statutes, detail the source, role and functions of its Trustees, Directors and Governors and of the Vice Chancellor and Principal Officers of Notre Dame and its mission as a Catholic University.
The Act
The University of Notre Dame Australia Act 1989 is the University’s establishment legislation.

Program Requirements
All undergraduate programs listed below are accredited by the University to lead to a Higher Education qualification against Level 7 of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Information about the AQF is available at: www.aqf.edu.au/
Postgraduate programs listed below are accredited by the University to lead to a Higher Education qualification against the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) at: Level 8 (for Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma programs); Level 9 (for Masters programs); or Level 10 (for Doctoral programs). Policy Framework
The Policy Framework is the governing framework for University policy documents. Policies establish the key principles and provisions that govern the University’s decision making processes. They are the official position statement of the University, and they are often accompanied by associated procedures or guidelines that explain how the policy is to be implemented.
